Liverpool are closing in on their first signing of the Arne Slot era after stepping up talks with Valencia for goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, a source has told ESPN.

Valencia and Liverpool are discussing a fee in the region of €40 million ($44m) for the 6 feet 6 inches Georgia international, but while a deal has not yet been finalised, a source has told ESPN that negotiations are moving towards a successful conclusion.

Between him and Szobounspellable the kit guys would be tearing their hair out.

that's the craziest and most unnecessary offside goal I've ever seen. Just absurd.

United defenders fall asleep at the back post and looks like Brighton have the first upset of the new season.

just typical. You could bet money on the fact that they would concede in stoppage time, especially after that slapstick offside goal. I'm so sick of these defensive lapses.

There should be no such thing as offside when the ball is already in the 6 yard box (or IMO the 18 yard box) just a stupid rule at that point as evidenced by that being called offside

How much of an upset is it though? United just isn’t that good.

Wtf, I leave the grocery store and Ipswich are up 1-0 on Man City, I get home 10 minutes later and they are 3-1 down?

As easy as it is to play the Man City cheating card, it's far easier right now to play the Barcelona are poor card. They are letting a quality player leave cause they need to reduce the wage bill, and even after this they still can't register Olmo lol. Maybe they need to bring back to Unicef uniform and steal the pennies?

It’s been at least a couple of years since Brighton beating Manchester United could be even close to being considered an upset.

That's a really bad miss by Watkins, Villa should be ahead

No excuse for that defending, nor for that miss. Sometimes Arsenal’s defence needs to just clear it, especially after a mess up like that. It is one of the two things that drives me nuts when I watch them.

Tony Pulis would station two 6’6 centre backs in front of the opposition goalkeeper at all times.
