A big missing piece for both sites right now (CapWages and PuckPedia) is the future seasons. I don't see any way of building a roster for the 2025/2026 Flames etc.

Capwages isn't calculating the AAV correctly. For example, it's showing Zayne Parekh with a cap hit of 0.975M and the same number for AAV. I believe his AAV should be 1.975M, which is what puckpedia is showing.

Yeah, they both suck in their own ways. It's too bad.

Personally, I think that $0.975M is the more accurate number. The bonuses are only applied at the end of the year anyway.

The biggest thing between the two is readability. I only just checked out CapWages today because I felt PuckPedia has been around longer that I'll just stick with that. That was, of course, a silly way to decide which site to use.

CapWages is so much easier to read and find information. That is the biggest reason that makes a website good or not is ease to read, navigate and find what you're looking for. It also chose a very similar theme to CapFriendly and that was smart too.

Whoever is behind this, thanks. It's nice to have a site to go to in order to get info on stuff like this, especially if you frequent a message board like CP and engage in discussions on the subject.

Hopefully it's a CPer behind it.
This site is already blocked at my work! How did they know!?!?!

What, are the Flames playing at Max Bell this season?

They might have a hard time filling Max Bell by the end of the season

The Ken Bracko arena at Max Bell seats 2,121, with standing room for about 3,000.

I wouldn't bet anybody five cents that I am alive… but I would bet a very substantial amount that the Flames will not play a home game with attendance of less than 3,000 this season. (No bet in case of a situation like Covid, when attendance was zero because fans weren't allowed in the building.)

They just need to work on their layout. I find it a bit clunky, but then again I was so used to the Capfriendly layout. Probably why I am gravitating to the Capwages.

Hadn't gone to Cap Wages in a while, they now have a buy out calculator, offer sheet calculator, waivers calculator and a full GM mode.

Seem to to be doing a great job keeping up with transactions as they happen as well.

Great site and quickly becoming what CapFriendly was.

Which is what I predicted when capfriendly was bought out and why I don’t even really understand the move by the caps. It’s not hard or proprietary to build this, the data is pretty available and once you have it the interface isn’t that hard. Feel like the caps could’ve just saved some money, went to the local university with red bull and pizza and had what they needed in a short time period.

I assume he wasn’t being serious.

Since attendance is generally based on sold tickets, the substantial season ticket base endures a relatively healthy number.

I, for one, am embracing the rebuild I’ve long waited for. I am looking forward to a season with little expectations of winning and celebrating when they do win.

The Caps may not be buying the site, maybe they want to hire the capfriendly creator for an analytics role, and one of the hiring conditions is to shut down the site....
