They absolutely have to trade someone, maybe two someones.

So clearly you were disagreeing that the Oilers had to ‘trade someone, maybe two someones’.

Or else you replied to that post without paying attention to what you were reading. That's certainly a possibility.

He was disagreeing with my cap number, not my statement about needing to trade people.

Simple stuff.
Yes, I'm agreeing with you, with the exception that they have to sign Holloway, Broberg and someone else for that money, because if it's 1.33 that's with a 20 man roster. It appears that other person is Stecher. So, even if Stecher is signed for league min, it's 580k for Broberg and Holloway.

Also I checked the buyout calculator for Kane. It doesn't really help - only saves 1.6M, and then you obviously have to find someone to take that spot in the lineup as well.

Stecher is $787,500 so now they're down to $545,833.

Broberg would push either Stecher or Brown down to the minors so that has to be considered for his contract number but no money left for Holloway.

One of Ceci or Kulak have to be the odd one out. Edit: Or a Kane buyout would be ~1.9 over 4 years if i'm doing that correctly.

Someone should offer sheet Lavoie and screw the Oilers.

It’s also hilarious Jackson is spending all the cap space and will hire a Bowman after. What’s the point.

Don’t think Lavoie has hit the requirements for offer sheet eligibility.

the ever youthful Oilers now going into next season (so far) with 14 30+ year olds under contract. doesn't include Nurse who will turn 30 later this season

the 67 Leafs who I always thought of as the oldest team ever had 12 30 year olds

Oh well that sucks.

I don’t want Edmonton to get out of that Kane deal.

The most repulsive team ever.
