He can play junior this year, but because he turns 20 before the end of the year, he can also be sent to the AHL.

If he is sent back to junior, he can't be recalled until his junior season is over, so they will probably try to keep him with the Wranglers unless he really can't hack it.


Also, his contract can't slide this year, so there's no advantage to sending him back to junior unless necessary.

Solovyov would need to clear waivers. It would be too big a risk and poor asset management to waive him. He would really have to stink to not make the roster, imo.

It's too bad he can't play in the AHL.
