Yes! Super excited to get Parekh. Kid looks like he could be a stud.

No reason, look at this team or shell of what we have. Let him simmer and cook

The Flames should be getting some points from the back end. Especially with guys like Poirier and Morin.
This is why I would have preferred Silayev - we already have some good offensive D prospects.

The difference though, is that Parekh is a rightie. Special talent, and a rightie

Would have preferred Zeev, but the risk of the American player wanting to only stay for a few years is real.

I hope Zayne will be as good as some of his advocates here believe and that he loves to be in Calgary!

Totally pumped for this pick, he was my top realistic pick for the Flames. He was number 4 on my board

Sad that Tij was picked up, but was this the hockey gods smiling on us?

Ridiculous he dropped to 9.

It's hard to complain about this pick. Nice to see Conroy swing for the fences instead of taking the safe player.

I read on twitter today that Silayev plans to stay in Russia until at least 2026. I feel like that is a risk the Flames didnt want to take with this pick.

Many scouts think he is close to being NHL ready. But I think he gets one more year in juniors.

RHS, big-time shooter, can beat goalies from anywhere along the blue line…

This kid is reminding me of a slightly smaller, less physical Al MacInnis.

Makar would be the perfect rolemodel:

Parekh said his favorite NHL player is Tampa Bay Lightning center Steven Stamkos, but he's modeling his game after Colorado Avalanche defenseman Cale Makar.
"I watch a lot of his clips," he said. "I try to do a few things in practice when I have free time. I throw a few drills in there, the skating and offensive stuff he does."

Knocks on Parekh is his top end speed (although skating otherwise is good) and he tends to take a lot of offensive risks. But his defensive game is solid. Has hockey sense in spades. Needs to get stronger. Has a wicked shot. The highlights do not lie.

Craziest thing about this kid is he graduated high school at 15 years old and has been doing university courses since he turned 16. Insane
