Just saying, for Flames fans that think the Flames will dominate because they have better prospects, well you're probably going to be disappointed with the results. Just enjoy getting a first glimpse of the new players. Results are completely irrelevant.
It's the first real competition after the summer for the kids. Development Camp is more for getting noticed individually. The tourney is a small sample of the GAF-ness of the prospects. How badly do they want to win even meaningless games?

I expect 10-0 against EDM, or it was a bust of a draft.

Yes please.

There were quite a few interesting players left on the board when this year’s draft concluded.

Don’t think any of the teams care about the results. It’s purely for evaluation. There are tons of scouts there.

Do the Oilers even have enough prospects to ice a full team for this?

Good point. I just hope that Basha, Gridin, Mews, and Misa all look much better than O'Rielly.

Nobody's making the team based on how they look over four days in Penticton.

The big thing I notice about these games is that there is usually one or two players who really stand out and they can often carry that though to training camp. Last year Klapka looked great.

But the Oilers have so few prospects they’ll probably have to load up their team with the younger players on their AHL team.

I had plans to finally go this year, after watching online for many years, but unfortunately life got in the way at the last minute. The young stars tournament is definitely one of the highlights of my hockey year, but I’ve never had a chance to go in person.

Hopefully they do a good job of streaming it this year.

I hope the boys are super motivated to avenge last year's humiliating loss to the Canucks!

I hope the boys are super-motivated because they know there are jobs available.

I have a feeling the remaining rosters will start coming out today. For good reasons the Flames didn't do it yesterday. I assume most if not all the participants are in the city and getting ready for the rookie testing. 3 more sleeps.

This is true, but it was certainly the tournament that put Lomberg on the map.

Wonder when the actual rosters for each team will get announced. Depending who the Flames send could be some interesting names...

Honzek - Lipinski - Coronato
Stromgren - Misa - Gridin
Basha - Hoskin - Battaglia
Morton - Kerins - Klapka
Bell - Nikolaev - Ciona

Morin-Parekh
Poirier - Brzustewicz
Grushnikov - Mews
Jurmo - Hurtig

I always thought that the older prospects got to skip Penticton.

Here's how I see it:
Definitely won't be there: Pelletier, Schwindt, Morton, Solovyov
Probably won't be there: Coronato, Stromgren, Kuznetsov, Nikolayev, Klapka.
Could go either way: Poirier, Ciona, Kerins, Jurmo, Grushnikov
