I was going to school in Okotoks in the early 90's when a kid in High River burned their school down. We had to split the day with HR kids the remainder of the year.

This also happened when I was in grade 10. I was dating her best friend.

He came to school after he did it and confessed to the football coach. THAT was a f'd up day.

I punched my gym teacher in the nose. It was an accident. Sorry Mr. C.

100% - The grade 5/6 started it and the rest of the school latched on. I was in 3/4 at the time, but I remember the 5/6s getting hauled into the gym for a bit of a talking to.

The issue wasn't so much the playing for keeps, it was the higher grades taking advantage of the lower grades, especially in slammer speed.

Figuring the presentation needed some color, I obtained a Barbie doll, filled her up with fake blood and when her head came off she oozed gore for the rest of the class.

Girls wouldn't talk to me after that day.
Sounds like you might have been the incident...

Small school = small incidents
I'm sure Russell would say there was nothing small about it.

Also, the legend of the Mad Crapper haunted at least one Calgary HS that I know of.

Stuff like this and the post above (throwing food at the teacher) is exactly why teachers shouldn't be issued guns like some U.S. states are proposing. Imagine if a very flustered sub dealing with that had a loaded gun on them?

Anyway, mine are tame, but: student got EXPELLED at grad for mooning the entire Jubilee in his gown on stage (Catholic district). Imagine getting expelled your final week of school lol

Another one that was a funny incident just to me:

In HS, got baked with my friend at lunch one day (who looked like the love child of George Costanza and Chris Farley). About an hour later when coming back from the bathroom, I see my friend in a wheelchair being pushed by his very concerned looking dad while he violently vomited into a doggie bag.

His dad just thought he was really sick, he didn't know it's because he smoked too much, which made it extra funny to me. Imagine being baked and seeing essentially an able-bodied Chris Farley loudly throwing up into a doggie bag while in a wheelchair pushed by his oblivious dad because he got too baked. Funniest HS memory I have.

Had a Math teacher go ####oo for coco puffs I was 17 or so and a prefect (British school obv's) and so the history teacher comes running into our class and shouts 'I need the prefects now!!' we all steam out where he says Mr **** has come back to school I need you to help me stop him doing something stupid', the teacher had been off on stress leave, turned out there had been a love triangle between the history teacher, the math teacher and the female English teacher.

We catch up with the math teacher in the upper hallway and gang tackle him, about 6 of us, which was fun, and restrain him while waiting for the cops, he had been chasing the English teacher around with a cane and a plastic bag trying to beat on her.
Cops arrive and arrest him, back to the funny farm he goes, meanwhile one of the cops looks in the bag and shouts 'I think this is a bomb' so we all run.

The cop carries the bag out into the playground (kudos to his balls of steel) where the bomb squad turns up later and determines its just a bag full of random wires and bits of a radio made to look like a bomb, fun day

Back in the 80s the jocks at Wise Wood had regular rumbles with the freaks from Bishop Grandin.

Lets see, never drop 7 pounds of a unstable metal into the Toilet.

One of our gym teachers in junior highschool went to jail for inappropriate relations with under aged students.

Personally one story in high school, I would have to write to penthouse forums and start it with

"Dear Penthouse Forums, I never thought I'd be writing you, but I really need to tell you about this adventure that I had that involved a gym storage room, a bunch of mats and several co students"

I think I was in grade 8 going to OJHS. I recall them taking the 7 and 8s to one gym and the 9s to the other gym and made that announcement. There was that hallway with the jr high grad pictures and I remembered someone had punched and spit on his picture.

Looks like a few of you went to my High School (Ernest Manning).

Lets see here...

1) We used to play a school wide spy game where you got the name of another student and would hunt them down with a nerf gun. Someone would have your name . This would go on all week and anyone left "surviving" on Friday would do a winner take all with obstacles in the main gym in front of the school. Unfortunately, we were happening to do this the week of the Columbine massacre. That hit the news.

2) Someone tossed another kid through the window at the Rusty Cage

3) English teacher sleeping with students

4) A kid shot a rocket through the front of the school which impacted the filing cabinet in the office and started a fire

5) A kid intentionally hooked up a battery incorrectly in the shop on Friday afternoon. By Monday morning the entire school was filled with a noxious smell.

6) Someone got expelled so before they left the school they lit the entire contents of their locker on fire. Another evacuation.

7) the previously mentioned suicide

Probably more that I am missing. What a school that was . Probably got evacuated 6-7 times in the 3 years I was there.

That happened at my high school too, but never made the news! I'm sure the school couldn't afford a $300 reward!

The night I was called to the Bar in BC we went to a pub in Kitsilano. I had far too much to drink. Judd Nelson was at the next table and did not appreciate my "Bender Routine". He was small though and I did not get the beating I deserved.

Nothing major. In Junior high one student would call in bomb threats all the time. Like two or three a month for my grade 9 year. Kids from Foxtrap were rough yo. We appreciated the afternoons off.
