I think we're locked into 8th overall. I'm good with it. It's no 1st overall or 2nd overall when you get the prized prospect or the pick of the litter of the rest, but I like what's in the top ten an will be happy with any of em.
 |
It’s a crap shoot anyway. So like you said. It probably doesn’t matter.

Brutal brutal hockey team.

Whole other ledge downward.

San Jose really has its work cut out for itself. They are spectacularly bad. Flames really dominated them I thought, and i don't think the Flames were having such a great game, and certainly came out sluggish.

Solovyov looked great in his return. I really like this kid.
Okhutiuk was decent I thought too, in his return back to San Jose.
Wolf was steady. Lucky on a couple of shots, but otherwise steady enough to win this game. Glad he got that W in San Jose.

As for the positioning - you can't expect to lose every single game, and the Flames have a fairly easy schedule. I would prefer that they finish 5th overall too, but the Flames simply aren't going to lose every single game for the rest of the season.

I was hoping Coleman got his 30th and Weegar got his 20th, but hopefully that comes before the season is up.

Re-sign Kuzmenko. He’s fun to watch, a great interview, and I want to buy his jersey.

Flames need to win 4 of their last 5 to not draft top ten.Flames need to lose every game to move up to the 7th spot.

The 6-3 loss hurt us, and the 3-2 win also hurts us.

If teams could control wins and losses, every team would finish 82-0

The Sharks barely had a shot in the second half of the game.

Disagree. I thought he was the most dangerous forward all game.

Why? Gilbert is a 27 year old UFA.

I assume they will keep rotating guys in. But I don't understand wanting to see a UFA over a prospect.

Like seeing Rooney get acknowledged by Huska for his block at the end of regulation. Followed by Kuzy going ham on Rooney's head!

Fair, but this isn't against an average NHL club. SJS is one of the worst teams in recent memory. I think they'd struggle to make the Calder Cup playoffs, never mind the Stanley Cup playoffs.

We shouldn't be 1-1 with a -2 goal differential against these guys.

don't make me list the teams SJ has beat

Oilers, Canucks, Kings, Islanders, Wings, Blues, Devils....just off the top of my head

It's still the NHL, and its not like the Flames didn't trade half their D away

I don't find them enjoyable at all when they mean absolutely nothing. I haven't had a desire to watch any of the Flames games in a few weeks.

It's odd, because I love the sport. Love watching and coaching my kids all through minor hockey. Enjoy Hitmen hockey also.

But once games don't matter to the Flames, I just auto tune out. If I have time to watch any game, I switch to one where the teams are playing for something.

If it's a whole season of guaranteed meaningless games next season, meaning out of the playoff contention after Ocrober, it is going to be awful.

I get that.

I'm always intrigued in team building and who's improving ... who plays better with who ... who will be in the built top six and top four.

Keeps me interested.
