Got to say the best part of this season has seen the injection of youth by Conroy. Not sure that would have been the case under Treliving. Refreshing to see the team stick to their plan and promote from the farm rather than filling holes with old, expensive vets.

Criticism noted, and I'm sorry if my remarks about Gilbert were over the line.

I did note at the time that they got the stretcher ready for him, but didn't need to use it. I believe he'll be fine, and I'm certain he's going through the concussion protocol right now; and rightly so. But my alter ego got carried away with the idea of using a dead player as a form of cap circumvention… and here we are.

Best wishes to Gilbert, and apologies to all.

A win over the Wild and now the Preds. Great way to start a road trip. Hopefully it continues.

Have to love the way this team is playing. A collective group effort along with great goaltending.

Win the next two.

Then I'll believe there's a shot.

They're playing the right way though. Most in sync all 4 lines have been all season. And the late major aside, the PP isn't useless of late either.

agree about the injection of youth but isn't that more due to Huska as opposed to Sutter? if Sutter is still here i doubt we see any of these guys.

but i digress - Flames Win!!!!!

It was flat sure, but they had the game in hand and the Gilbert hit definitely sucked the wind out of them.

Had it been a more crucial PP I'm sure they would have gotten up a bit more for it, but killing the clock was all that was needed

The Preds are another deeply unlikable team. Great to beat them!

That's a funny shot to take at the Flames. Coincidentally, that bum Coleman had a goal, an assist and was +3 on the night.

Blake Coleman would be 4th in 5v5 points (20) behind only McDavid (28), Draisatil (22), and Hyman (24) and has more than All star snub RNH.

His 5 short handed points would also lead the Oilers, and he has been on the ice for more Short Handed goals for (6) than PP goals against (5).

Blake Coleman would also lead the Oilers in plus / minus.

Oilers fans make me laugh because they think their entire top PP unit deserve to be all stars and are amazing to be over a point per game, when really they are just factors of being power play merchants that get to play with McDavid and Draisaitl.

Nice to catch Saros on an off night and take advantage of it. I'm always a bit in awe as to how much goal support Vladar gets at times.

Other than most of the 3rd against Minnesota the Flames have played great the last two games.

Sucks about Gilbert. He’s been getting better. Guessing Oesterle slots back in. Hopefully he can step up from what he’s been doing.

Should be a very interesting next couple of months. Lots of trade rumours. Kylington back practicing. Could be a very different lineup soon. Hopefully they can stay competitive.

If he wins the Cup with this team I'll get him a Gorilla Chest Vest*!

*this offer is not legally binding as I think its inherently illegal, not sure but pretty sure? Also...I just can't do that.

My head wants them to lose but man, my heart just feels so much better when they win. I can’t cheer for losses, even though I know logically it’s not a bad thing.

Lol I loved that post, that mentality of focusing on All Stars and point production is why the Oilers are never going to even sniff a Cup with McDavid.

They can look back at McDavids tenure with them and be happy with annual All Star game and skill competition performances if they want.
