If someone offered the Canadian players $100 every time they hit the net but got $100 every time they missed or passed instead they would be a billionaire with this team.

4 chances right in the slot and not a single on hits the net.

It is crazy how these guys can dominate their leagues at junior and then forget to play when they come overseas.

They need to rifle it and get rebounds.

This team is solidly mediocre.
I was bummed we missed out on Danielson, Yager and Wood, but after this tournament, they all look like they could be solid middle 6 players, but not difference-makers.
I'm also not really seeing the hype around Celebrini. He's a younger player, so it's maybe a little unfair to expect him to take the game over, but he looks like he's going to be a RNH-level 1st overall.

As an underager being the best player on team Canada and arguably the whole tournament is extremely impressive. I think Bedard may have skewed what people have for draft eligible players in this tournament. For the most part they barely play as the 13th forward if they even make the team.

His play this tournament is close to the level that RNH had when he came back the year after he was drafted, two years older than Celebrini. He definitely looks to be a level or two above RNH.

I see the hype. He’ll be a star.

Don't take penalties and the Germans have no chance, instead the Canadians (and refs) have handled them a 5 and 4 minute PP.

I know they are considered kids at 18 and 19 but it shouldn't be this hard to just not gift the Germans free chances.

That's why it's flawed. Intent on where you're trying to make contact should be taken into consideration. Geekie was just trying to knock him over.
I understand what you're saying but I don't believe there will be many players risking head injuries in an attempt to draw a penalty.

Every Canadian that has outproduced him at the WJC at the same age is in the Hall of Fame.

He will be there too in 20 years.

It depends how hard the guy is coming in at you. If he's coming in fast then yeah it's dumb to try and lower your head to draw a penalty.

Man… if you just read this thread and didn’t check that the shot count was 36-20… and 25-8 after 2 periods…. You’d think the game was way closer than it was.

HaHa
Never got a chance to watch or even check in on Canada's game today until now. I read this thread first and assumed based on all the negativity that they lost 5-1 or something.

The game was tied for most of the first two periods, Canada was playing terribly it wasn’t negative to point that out. The TSN guys were pointing out the same things.

His MO is to ramp up in new situations. He’s just wired that way.
