Did I miss why Oesterle was in over Solovoyov?

TBH had no issue with how Gilbert and Desimone played. They were fine for the most part

I'd have Gilbert on the second pair way before Oesterle though.

You would've taken that contract too if you were Huberdeau.

Brad went out of his way to wine and dine him before he even played a game.

The real scapegoat is sitting in his office in Toronto salivating over Ristolainen.

I agree that Huska needs to stop play Oesterle. Our coaches doesn't work to fix some problems which seems like they intentionally doing it. May be all management is happy what is the team is doing.

There's a lot to like tonight. Zary,Wolf, Sharangovich all showing the future isn't bleak.

Plenty of thing to not like either tonight. Gameplans and coverages are bad. Dzone coverage and PP are really really bad. At least try putting the players with heat in the sticks on the 1st pp and start auditioning other guys for #1 pp time. Guys like Weegar and Solovyov would be interesting Auditions.

Watching the fan base turn on Huberdeau is alarming. His play isn't as bad as the pitchfork and torch crowd is saying it is but it isn't great either. Coaches need to adjust for him instead of making him adjust to them.

All in all, losses are great, higher the draft pick the better. Plus it hastens the departures of players on the way out. On the flip side, it's nice to see the effort is there and that the kids are alright and the future is bright.

I love that Kadri has turned his game around this season, but he really needs to stop holding onto the puck forever. There were 3-4 times tonight when he was ragging the puck in the neutral zone and either turned it over, or had to fight off a Knight to retain possession, when he could have really just dumped the puck off to a teammate.
I appreciate that he can retain possession if needed, but maybe let's keep that to the offensive zone, and make the safer plays in the neutral zone.

Never know now but I wonder what value Huberdeau would have had if you just flipped him right after the Tkachuk deal happened to one of the teams that missed out on Tkachuk.

He was making $5.9M and coming off a 115 point season.

Could you have gotten Necas or something similar to what Carolina was offering for Tkachuk out of them?

Lots of people had already made up their minds after 10 games last year.

Really though at this point he deserves at least some of the criticism. He just can't generate anything offensively.

When Tanev returns to "health" they need to trade him asap. Can't risk him breaking again a week later but worse.

Solo is soooo bad, even worse than Oesterle. I miss Zadorov.

I prefer not to contemplate this too much. Mostly because it makes me sad.

Flipping the returns and keeping the 1st and Monahan probably would've expedited the reset/retool they're being forced into now.

They need to park Huberdeau in the Press Box.

That guy is worse than useless right now.

Let him munch some popcorn and learn how the game happens outside of Florida. Weegar figured it out.

The Weegar penalty call was embarrassing. Missing a blatant head shot because you don’t want to have out a 2 minute 5 on 3.

These bums are never held accountable but always find a way to ruin games.

NHL refs are embarrassing. They should be punished and put on blast like they are in the NBA.

If coaches can sit and call out poor performances by players well the refs need to answer for this garbage.
The refs are garbage. Why do they refuse to call diving???? It's in the ####ing rules!

Best way for a bad team to lose: while scoring a lot of goals.

Flames are getting awfully close to top-five pick territory. Excellent.

Since the games already seem fixed, I'd cut a nice cheque to the ref that calls embellishment on a guy like Stone/McDavid/MacKinnon

It's becoming soccer out there. It's embarrassing to the game.

Solovyov has the tools to be a decent defenceman, but let's face it, he only has 6 games of NHL experience. I suspect Vegas would have eaten him alive.

Stone with the rising shot in OT.

Wolf goes down, lots of empty net to shoot at.

Solovyov will be OK, he's got room to grow.

Guys like Osterle are what they are.

Bettman needs to go. Too bad Chelios just talked about getting his buddies involved instead of actually doing something. The chosen franchises get all the "breaks".

Was off the post and in on the breakaway and beat him below the glove and above the pad.

Had nothing to do with his size as you seem to be insinuating here.
