Yes I know that, but things ratchet up when you get a SSN etc. The Americans are pretty heavy handed with keeping track of citizens around the world, so we’ve been advised to keep things minimal till there’s an actual use.

Well technically speaking, whether you get the SSN, passport or vote isn’t a factor. They’ll still have tax issues when they’re older and working.
