That game featured my favourite moment in a long time, the empty net goal by Backlund. The Seattle defensemen performed my most hated defensive move when the puck is iced - Turn to the wrong side, push off slow to make it look like you had no chance at getting the puck and take the icing.
It was nice seeing him perform that to a tee instead of trying to cut it off then look down the ice in horror as it bounced off the boards directly into the net. Amazing.

I enjoy the wins, enjoy the losses. It is all rainbows and sunshine for me this season. Let's see what happens next game and if the Flames can start building off of something.
Vladar made some big saves when needed. Winning is much more fun than losing. Huberdeau still not good. Should really sit a game or maybe the President needs to call him out like Fitzgerald did to Benn and Seguin a few years back. Nice win though and Oilers are still no good!

I thought Mangiapane’s ejection was weak. At worst that ejection should be enough. Five minutes is appropriate but not suspension worthy as it was pretty soft.
