So you have to click out of an ad every so often. big ####ing deal.

suck it up.
I guess the big annoyance for me with the large, full screen pop ups is that when they load it loads larger than the screen itself, on mobile, and the "X" or "Close" isn't even visible. That and the ad is completely useless because it loads so much larger than the screen meaning that most of the window can't be seen.

Here’s a cool idea: the people who are OK with ads should get served quadruple the amount of ads, I’m thinking a few pop ups for each page, ads on each side, really max it out. While the people being told to “suck it up” can opt out of ads entirely.

I wonder if they can turn on signatures for every user and post an ad in the signature spot on every single post? The revenue would be awesome.

That’s be great. Add some extra chaos and let people have a say in what their signature advertises.

I always get the ad with the giant Trudeau head. Not sure what epoch times is, but I assume their target is the F Trudeau crowd.

If I’m getting “political” ads now, when the next election is called, the ads will be unbearable.I long for the days of the mail order bride ads.

This is goddamn horrendous.

My entire screen gets filled with a zoomed in ad as described above, can't see what it is, can't locate an x to close.

Don't fix it, get rid of it. Take the idea of pop up ads and throw it in the trash. Are the 2 current banners not enough? Must everything be made worse?

100% this? I respect trying to earn extra money, but these ads are ****ing awful.

The fact that it’s for the Epoch Times makes it that much worse. I won’t be here as often if I have to deal with this garbage.

Yes - it’s a free site that I enjoy. No - I don’t have to suck it up.

It's like when Bingo went ahead with the paid forums years ago and it messed with the flow of the home page. Maybe engage with the user base a little before throwing these ads up instead of just making Photon flip the switch.

I'd pay a subscription service that allowed me to
A) teach both Captain Crunch and dissentowner what paragraphs are; one is too many, one not enough.
B) turn off signatures for Locke and Textcritic
C) give Mr Coffee a sense of humor

Obviously c is a tricky and A might work with a paraphrase swapping program. Anyway, I'm an idea man.

This actually did make me laugh. I bet you’d be surprised at how seriously I’m actually taking this website.

The trick is to have a massive signature yourself but then turn them off when you view the forum. Then it only annoys other people.

If on your phone, refreshing the page eliminates the ad. Because yeah, you can’t find the x or it just doesn’t work.
