Checked to see what his stats were this preseason, zeros across the board in 4 preseason games. Guy is out there skating cardio laps, Vegas should cut him.

I think Allison would make for an interesting claim. Especially over Hunt.

He could give you 4th line minutes with potential to play up the line up if he can stay healthy.
What?

Dryden Hunt has over 200 NHL games & scored 58 goals in the W as a 20 year old & well over 0.5 ppg in the AHL.

Allison hasn’t demonstrated offensive acumen to play “up the line up” anywhere ever.

Sorry, man-beg to differ.

-47 points in 56 USHL games in his draft year, to go with 16 points in 11 playoff games.
-29 points in 36 NCAA games in his rookie season.
-30 points in 22 NCAA games in his D+2 season.
-38 points in 48 NCAA games the next 2 injury riddled seasons
-7 points in 14 NHL games in his rookie season, with 9 points in 10 AHL games.
-17 points in 28 AHL games the year after. Every season, his rambunctious style costs him time off with injuries.

There are definitely reasons to suggest that Allison has some untapped offense. He won’t be confused with Draisaitl, but he could easily play quality 3rd line minutes, ala Blake Coleman, and fill in on the 2nd line if needed. The only thing that might cancel that out is how much the injuries have eaten into him.

Totally agree with everything you said about Vegas, it was more about the player than the destination.

Your forgot the part where they've had huge success by running their business that way

Dryden Hunt has 15 goals in 202 games. He played for 3 organization and 5 different teams last year.

Wade Allison has 13 in in 75. Obviously he cleared, but Dryden Hunt is as replaceable as they come.

You act like they're the only team doing this. Last season, more than half the teams in the league were over the cap and manipulated LTIR to stay technically compliant.

If you want to blame someone, blame the PA for insisting on full pay in the 56-game COVID season, creating the escrow mess, and the league and PA jointly for designing such an idiotic way of paying the escrow back. The salary cap should have been allowed to rise, with an increased escrow percentage, to pay off the debt faster. Instead they capped escrow and froze the salary cap, which dragged out the repayment for a couple of extra years and bollixed everybody's cap management.

Is there, though? That's a huge pet peeve of mine. "CP says this but then they say this!!!!! AHHHHHHH!!!". It's literally hundreds of members.
