My daughter plays my beer league team.

She changes in the stall and most of the guys do as well if they gear down to nothing.

All of them wait until she and I leave before showering (we leave quickly after games because she has Uni in the mornings).

Person in boxer shorts vs jock strap:

Yea I don’t think you know what a jock strap is

Most arenas have an alternate room for women. Whether it be an actual room designated for women(which is always very small) or a "referees" room. Women and girls not comfortable being in the same room as the men go into those rooms.

I haven't seen a lot of women changing with guys, but I have seen these two guys who I used to play with allow their girlfriends into the room before/after gametime.... like... wtf? But when the ladies were in the room then guys who had to go shower or completely strip down were just more discreet and no big deal was made.

We have jointly asked the beer league to accommodate our insecurities by not allowing anyone on any team to dress down below their upper base layer. You now must enter or leave the dressing room in your shoulder pads on. If you wish to remove them, then you have to do so in the toilet stall. You can't be in an undershirt or t-shirt in the dressing room and have to shower in a bodysuit.

I'm assuming you're in Calgary. Do they not have a separate (and usually much smaller room) for women? I think all the rinks here in Lethbridge have that but some are afterthoughts and they get a super tiny room.

This would not of worked for me great for me.

I wore jock compression shorts so had nothing underneath. I would have to fully strip down and as others have said the single bathroom stall is nasty. You also would have to have most if the team using the same single stall.

I also got eczema from my elbow pads so it was really important to shower after. Plus we would go for team dinners afterwards so everyone would need to shower at the arena.

Not sure why we need to over regulate everything these days and turn it into a bubble world. It's a change room, its meant for changing. Why are we so scared to have people change around each other.

As others have said, I've played with gay guys on my team. It's a non issue.
I've played with girls, and everyone just adjusts appropriately. We would we working on improving common sense and courtesy in our world not over regulating every little thing.

Not being able to shower within 20 minutes of working out is an assault on my body. I have 14 different medical issues that, while dormant for the entirety of the time I play hockey, activate immediately when I am done and become uncontrollable if hot water doesn’t hit my skin within 20 minutes. In addition, if I don’t get to see at least one dozen penises every week, I am going to develop body confidence issues that will take 10-20 years of therapy to overcome and cannot be avoided any other way by specifically seeing those penises and showing my own in a locker room after hockey. At very least, I need to see bare chests, and it needs to be in the shower, and I need to see a dozen of them.

Anyone infringing on my needs is a woke moralist trying to legislate my rights and create a society that celebrates violence and condemns the human body to obscurity.

Forget your medical issues... you not showering after a workout is an assault on the noses of people near you!

They do, but since Atom she has said the same thing, I want to be part of the team.

This should be a thing for adult hockey as well. Pretty sure Bill Bumface remembers a certain fella that we referred to as micropenis. If we want a villain in this, it is Bill Bumface,

I would only hang brain when dummies would let their gf into the room after games.

If they were cool with it, they were cool with me. I refuse to put on undies till I get back to my stall. Gotta let it breathe man...

this hasn't been brought up in either of my kids hockey teams (u7, u9).

if anything should be implemented for minimum clothing is not allowing sandals in the dressing room. I was getting anxiety seeing a mom walk around in sandals with a bunch of kids walking around in a cramped dressing room wearing skates.

I don't see this rule being a problem for certain age groups - U5/U7/U9/U11 - they're not teenagers, and they don't have the hygiene issues of teenagers.

I might even put U13 in the group above. Not sure at this point.

Most definitely for U15 and U18 though, this rule is hilariously stupid and will absolutely not be followed.

I play in an over 60 league, 85% or more men. We changed in the same locker, I wear shorts and a tshirt, and if I want to strip further after a game I use the washroom. Some of the guys shower or use the urinal, I sit out of the siteline. It really isn't a big thing, and I would rather join my teammates in the locker room than banned to a subpar room. However, I think it's different for kids, I see no problem with either a decent locker for girls, or just nobody stripping down. Being the only girl, would suck to be banished to another room. Reality is that it is only through the age group that starts check hockey that it mostly is a shared locker room.
