The guy swinging from the bench seems especially cowardly. He's in a position where he knows other guys can't get him easily, and he's swinging at guys balancing on ice who are in a more vulnerable position and many are already tangled up in scrums with other guys.

It looks like the bench guy may have started the swinging too, with the other team only swinging at him after he made the first swings.

The nice thing about hockey is that you can both give and take the occasional physical assault and it's consistent with the rules of the game, and lets you get the aggression out.

But every now and again, someone loses their mind, and completely flips out and poops in another guy's glove.
