I think we've got to get back to the 'White Out.'
People do understand that the concept of Sports teams waving White Flags/Towels is the dumbest thing ever right?
The literal picturesque depiction of capitulation?

The best part is white is now the road jersey colour anyway. So yeah, keep on cheering for those visiting teams!

So start a 2023 Non-Flames NHL Signing Thread, where those interested can discuss all signings across the rest of the league - instead of making a completely new thread for a random player signed to a different team.

Hey man we can't all be experts at yelling at our players on the street for not scoring in front of their family.

That's because you spend most of your time on a Calgary Flames hockey forum...

Yup. It got Roger Neilson a suspension IIRC. He was waving a towel at the refs.

Waving towels for defeat is even more historical accurate than white flags too.
Historical dye was quite expensive, so the cheapest and most available cloth was white or undyed. When so absolutely beaten that you have no access to any resources, the only materials you could get to wave were scraps of the white cloth.
Making waving a white towel a symbol not just of surrender, but symbol of having lost so badly that you have no other options. You are in such poverty that all you can do is wave any scrap you can get you hands on to throw yourself to the mercy of your opponent.

At first glance, here are a few other non Flames posts.. this is an NHL board and always has been.
This isn't just some random prospect signing, Logan Cooley IS the best prospect of the 2022 NHL draft.
[Signing] Sens sign Tarasenko (1 yr, $5 million) (Multi-page thread 1 2 )
[Signing] Hurricanes re-sign Aho. 8 years, 78 M (9.75 AAV) (Multi-page thread 1 2 3 )
[News] Patrice Bergeron officially retiring (Multi-page thread 1 2 3 ... Last Page)
Blackhawks owner and chairman Rocky Wirtz dies (Multi-page thread 1 2 )
[News] DeAngelo on waivers for buyout (Multi-page thread 1 2 3 ... Last Page)

Existing NHL player movement and ownership news are different though, it's more relevant in the world of hockey. Can't be posting a new thread for every prospect signing (since that happens all the time), especially from teams that aren't the Flames. Should we go to a Yotes board and post the Honzek signing?

I think the fact that the OP is the only one who bothered posting a semi-serious take about the topic while every other post is just making fun of him, Arizona fans, and Winnipeg fans, should tell him plenty about how relevant it is in comparison to all those other threads.

Imagine how flooded this board would be if other team fans posted a thread for their best prospect signing an ELC. Congrats I guess? Maybe this should have been reserved for game 20 when he's the leading scorer of the Coyotes. (If, I guess)
