Certainly feels like Bertuzzi is riding his last name much more than what the reality is. I think he is a gritty player though and will go infront of the net, which is obviously a good trait and something that will help the Leafs. And scored some timely goals in the series against the Panthers but i haven't seen much FU in his game.

It’s not a bad signing for one season. He’s got that grit and pest factor the Leafs lack. Treliving having an aggressive free agency and that’s probably the reason they hired him. Bold moves.

He's not really gritty or a pest.

Wouldn't be surprised if moves like this diviide the locker room.

Excellent signing by Tre. Bertuzzi is a player and I was expecting him to get that money for 4 or 5 years, so smart move by Tre to sign him for 1 only while he waits for the cap to increase. If he plays well, extend him later. The difference with Tre in Toronto vs Calgary is he can be more confident that guys will want to stay in Toronto. If Tre was still with the Flames, signing Bertuzzi would have required term.

Yeah, not bad word by Tre here.
Doesn't address their actual needs but the signing itself in isolation is fine.
