Includes the moment Honzek and Lipinski reunited after being drafted.
Interesting they had a jersey with Suniev’s nameplate but not one for Morin. Don’t think they were expecting to be able to land Morin.

I think I heard that they were expecting to pick Suniev with their 2nd rounder and when Morin was still there they had to pick him and then were pumped that Suniev was still there at 80.

Interesting that Lipinski is an American, trained in the states, then went to CHL instead of USHL/college. I wonder why that is. Not a very typical path I think.

It's not that uncommon. Off the top of my head, Patrick Kane, Matthew Tkachuk, and Dustin Wolf are three US-born and raised players who chose the CHL rather than the NCAA.

The USHL is catching up but for kids not born with a silver spoon in their arse the CHL is still the faster/easier way to pro hockey.

“I believe the Flames like big players. It was pretty clear at development camp with a lot of big guys there. So I think I fit their kind of model there,” he said. “The situation they’re in is definitely good for me as a young guy. But being there, like through that whole week, it was just apparent how professional it is. Obviously it’s a big step up and how they run things is so effective. So I’m really excited about that [and] then just the city, honestly, and being able to go to Banff…It was just a really, really nice place to live and I could definitely see myself enjoying it.”

The Giants should be a team on the rise next season (they can't get much worse), so I would expect both Lipinski and Honzek to put up some big numbers.
