Oilers having even less depth is good

Is this to allow for cap space for a guy like Konecny maybe?

Klim is a 4th line option most people, especially fans would have time for. Hits, fights, can score a little.

Last season looks like a Lance Bouma though if you look at the underlying stats. His conversion rates on chances were through the roof.

Now he wants to get paid $2 million based on last season's results but is likely to put up maybe 15 points over 80 games next season.

Yamo is a better player, but he doesn't provide value at $3 million.

Good move for Yzerman IMO. He can afford to have players that are NHL calibre but don't have contract value because he has boatloads of cap space and the UFA crop is pretty dismal.

At first I was annoyed cause it seemed like Oilers charity work but then I remembered that the Oilers actually expected a return of value for Yamamoto and Kostin was actually good for their depth (which was abysmal).

You can also take it to the bank that Holland will use the cap space on worse players, or more likely that it's merely enough to cover Bouchard's pay raise.

So I'm good with this.

I think this space might be for signing Toews.

Lost in is the type of player that team needs. I like his game. He was exciting to watch.

Half? Bouchard ended the playoffs as the top scoring Dman, he's gunning for Nurse money

LOL.

The Oilers have room to sign Bouchard's extension with this move, but then will have only enough remaining space to fill out four roster spots with league minimum deals. Toews is not going to Edmonton to play for $700K.

This really screws the Foegele, Yamamoto and a 2nd for Konecny package that Spector was thinking could happen.
