The UFA class of 2023 is terrible. The Flames should be able to sell these players for massive value given the limited pool and cap space available.

They are all on great contracts. If the Flames want to get even more value, they can (and should) retain 50% value on all of these deals.

I'm sorry, but I just don't see how anyone could be against a rebuild now. This team can't turn these assets around into a viable team for next season.

Build through the draft. Capitalize on your assets. Leverage the tools available to you. Go all in.

Carpet bomb it at this point. Maybe you can still convince Montreal to take on Huberdeau at a PPG value

This is what I see too

I bet they all want to stay for above market...this latest "leak" likely has a lot to do with showing the players they are serious.

Pretty risky for Lindholm not to take an 8x8

The rest of them can beat it though...they are more valuable to trade IMO. Futures or otherwise

it might be comical for them to come out with this one after another, but I'll happily take any of those guys who play with open cards a year before they hit UFA over another Gaudreau situation.

I like it. But if the kids are actually alright next year and we make the playoffs I sure hope ownership/management don't delude themselves into thinking "OMG rebuild over! Our window has opened! SPEND ALL THE PICKS!!"

2014-15 was fun but honestly the resulting mentality of 'rebuild instantly over' from it sank this organization for the foreseeable future.

Might as well get rid of Rasmus too. Remove that Oiler Playoff stink from this franchise.

This is awesome

The players are forcing the owner to be smart and we have Conroy at the helm to build the team he wants vs the mess he inherited

Then take a page out of arizona's book and take on some bad contracts for a couple years for more assets!

And the cherry on top for me as an Angels fan is that I likely have to go through this again this winter when Ohtani leaves.

I’m starting to really hate pro sports.

Rebuild time for sure. I'm all for it. Let's go.

I have to think staying internal for both the GM and coaching hires is playing a big role in all this. It was a toxic atmosphere last year, and all they’ve done is moved up guys who were part of the institutional problem.

I really wish they would have gone external for head coach, but clearly cost was the primary motivation. Huska isn’t in the top 20 guys that were available. But, he’s cheap and Murray likes that.

This is the fear, seems to be turning into a 3 tier league. Support a rebuild and the stars are gonna leave anyway
