It would be a nice reward for somebody so committed to the Flames, but damn Conroy seems so nice, like Ted Lasso nice, I’d hate to see him become the ire of fans because of a bad move or two and then get punted from the Flames altogether.

This is my take as well; no idea if Conory will be a good GM but he's done the assistant role for a long time, in my mind he's a smart hockey guy and I'm happy he's getting an opportunity here.

What's the most likely path for Pascal going forward? Does he continue in his role with the Wranglers, or does he join the Flames in an assistant role?

Would much rather give Conroy a chance than hire a guy who’s GM’d before and massively failed. I’m 100% on board with this.

I'll bet one of the retreads is coming in as AGM to play bad cop. I wonder if it's not Bowman, looking to rebuild his reputation.

Don’t mind this. The guy has put in years and years of work for the team. At the very least he’s earned a shot.

Just because Conroy was an assistant GM to Treliving doesn't mean he a walking extension of Treliving and everything Treliving did lol... it's his chance to implement his own gameplan, which is likely what he will do. What that is, we don't know, and frankly I'm excited. Us fans know #### all what's going to happen and to think we know otherwise is amusing at best lol

Good luck to him, hopefully he does a great job.
First on the agenda, hire a coach. And please, for the love of Pete, be better at picking a coach than Treliving was. It was Tre's biggest weakness as GM.

Curious what the "other additions" means.
Obviously 1 would be someone to replace Connies old role.

I’m a big fan of this. Avoided the pitfalls of perceived “successful” GMs like Bowman and Nonis, picked a City favourite, and a guy who could be part of the next wave of great GMs.
It may fail, but there are certain people you’re happy to fail with.

Isn’t this ‘get the old gang together’ what the Oilers are mocked for?

Not sure if that’s the best reason to put someone in charge of an NHL team.
I see Conroy as a people person that got along with the players.
I have no idea if he has the skills to be a good GM.
It’s hard to judge a GM until he’s been in control for years.
This is an exceptionally important year coming up, with so many pending UFA’s.
I expect that he’ll have even less power than Treliving had.

Good for Conroy. Seems like a good guy who has put in his time. Not sure how good of a GM he will be, but I guess time will tell. Let's see what types of moves he makes this off season. That will be telling.

All I can get

I don't think it'll be Iginla coming on board, but watch for someone joining the organization with a Conroy connection. He'll want to put his own stamp on the organization.
