I was going to post how lame mascots are and that Harvey should be legitimately retired.

Then I read your post and it reminded me of how, as a child, I absolutely loved Ralph the Dog. I remember seeing him in the mall and him leading me on in the "Dee! Fence! chant while my Mom looked on, puzzled as she had never been to a Stamps game.

I now feel completely different and want Harvey to live on - I'm not the target audience, I just turned into a crusty old fart.

I hope to lose some of the crust and the memory evoked by that should help.

Mascots are for kids, they shouldn't scare kids.
Harvey is for kids. I've posted this before and I'll post it again:

Scorch is for everyone.

I came on here to see if someone had mentioned this. The original video has been taken down (possibly just for now) but if anyone out there watched it was kind of your usual stuff you would expect like how hot it is, how busy it is, injuries etc. but the guy did get into some pretty interesting stories. I won't share but let's just say he walked into an interesting situation occurring in an upper suite during a game. It makes me wonder if he divulged too much information overall or it is just taken off for editing purposes. He had some pretty neat stories in there from meeting Wayne Gretzky when he was coaching the Coyotes, to injuries he has suffered to people being inappropriate with him.

That was my favourite part of the interview...they removed it? I couldn't believe that happened, and I loved what he did, as opposed to just walking out...hilarious that he created a funny memory for those folks (beyond the memories they were already creating themselves...lol).

Hopefully they put it back up because it’s an interesting interview; in the meantime you can listen to it here: https://www.audacy.com/podcast/flame...ela-mark-f94c7

You can skip to 35:00 if you want to hear the “interesting” stories…

I posted this once before, but may as well repost it here:

I finally managed to find some historical record of this happening from the Calgary Herald archives:

1992, my 2 sisters and I were apart of this group of kids that joined Harvey on the ice for an intermission. I was only 4, but recall being told to just copy everything Harvey did (fall on the ice, adjust your belt, etc). and we also went to the Flames locker room to meet the team.

I *might* be the tiny one near the back in the photo.
