I don't see a Scorch graphic painted on the ice.

I have tickets in my account that says they are on the 26th and 28th.

Yup, I guessed wrong. The first 2 games will be Wednesday and Friday.

wranglers

It's officially time for the playoffs to start. Like all good playoff runs, they must start with a matchup against the Canucks.

Here's the series schedule from AHL.com (although, Game 5 must be a typo because that game should be in Calgary)...
  • Game 1 - Wed., Apr. 26 - Abbotsford at Calgary, 7:00
  • Game 2 - Fri., Apr. 28 - Abbotsford at Calgary, 7:00
  • Game 3 - Wed., May 3 - Calgary at Abbotsford, 8:00
  • *Game 4 - Fri., May 5 - Calgary at Abbotsford, 8:00
  • *Game 5 - Sun., May 7 - Calgary at Abbotsford, 8:00

4 days off between Game 2 and 3 is that normal?

It's the AHL. Is anything normal?

Also, apparently the Game 5 being in Abbotsford is accurate because it's a 2-3 series and the higher-ranked team can choose to start at home and sacrifice home ice for Game 5.

I'm not really sure why it's a 2-3 series instead of a 2-2-1. They do that for series with long travel distances, but Calgary to Abbotsford isn't that far. They don't even need to cross a border.

Well that's just dumb.

Reminds me of when the NBA did a 2-3-2 Finals. Get a split on the road and can sweep at home and win.

The AHL does that for the best of 7 series as well.

Strange league indeed.

Winning is winning but that format also reduces the chance a dominant team like the Wranglers win on home ice

Wasn't Wranglers first in the league, why do they only get 2 home games?

Wait a second. This is a best of 5 and Calgary willingly agreed to being required to win a road game to win the series?

Please tell me that isn't true.

Well Abbotsford could sweep at home and only need 1 win in 3 to win the series. You don't know what happens with randomness.

Just a stupid rule anyways.

wut?

If Abbotsford sweeps at home, they win the series. Makes no sense the better team is forced to win a road game.

If we picked home ice we go on the road to start and play the last 3 at home.
