The offence should have been built around Huberdeau, not having him plugged into a role that doesn’t suit his game. When you hand out the biggest contract in franchise history, you don’t expect that player to change his game. Somehow, someway, Sutter did
Trying to 'rebuild' Huberdeau was the first, but far from only, step Sutter took this year that left him on a completely different page than his GM and his players. It started them down a path that they would never be able to correct, a path that left the entire team, and organization, lost, confused, frustrated, mis-used, and ultimately failures.
I am/was one of Sutter's biggest supporters, but his performance this season will go down as one of the most disastrous in Flames' history. And for that, he HAS to be fired.

Agreed on Lucic. But it's probably Lewis' last game too. I hope he plays - he deserves a little acknowlegdment as a guy who put a lot out there for minimal salary. I could see him as a coach.
Agree on Lewis, its unfortunate I always lump in with the Lucic and Sutter pets but he is a real pro and actually contributed to the team. I wouldn't be upset if he got in the lineup and got some minutes tonight.
Seeing what he brought I wouldn't have minded him on the team even if Sutter wasn't the coach.

Yeah, when you play a kid or two on the bottom line it's good to have a guy like Lewis around. He rarely makes a mistake, he's kept his legs in shape and he's a real workhorse on unglamourous roles like PK. His cup experience is a bonus, though I suspect Sutter overrates rings as far as player ratings are concerned..

Also I was going to get mad that Lewis/Lucic are in over Duehr...but it could realistically be either their last game as Flames or even last game in the NHL...so guess maybe you keep them in tonight.

FFS I really want Treliving back as GM but I think the writing is on the wall.

That's why Stone is in also, I think. I criticize him plenty, but there's a guy who wanted to be a Flame for sure.

A win tonight conceivably drops the Flames three spots in the draft. Could cost them nothing as well depending on how some other teams do. Still hoping for a Wolf win though, but an 1-0 SO loss wouldn’t be the worst result.

Sucks to see that Ruzicka won’t play but I can’t really complain too much about the line-up. Happy to see Pelts back in and of course Coronato and Wolf
Lucic and Lewis in possibly the last games of their careers. Glad to see them get the start. pitty it is not a contest worthy of their accomplishments.
