Probably good if Nashville beats Carolina. The belief will be sky high, then they can beat the Jets and lose to the Flames.

Er, I guess that's a silver lining if the Preds are going to win? Personally, I would prefer them to lose (I mean today of course).

All of the Eastern teams have since scored, including Carolina against Nashville, so now it's 2-1 Nashville in the third.

This Nashville win isn’t too much of a sting.
It keeps them in the mix and highly motivated to beat WPG on Saturday. That’s the main thing needed for CGY, obviously with CGY winning out.
If NASH Can beat WPG on Saturday, and CGY beats Van, then the Flames can jump 3 points ahead of Nashville with a Monday win and they’d only have a game In hand. then we need WPG to lose one of their final three games(OTL would work).
Nashville beating WPG would be massive for CGY.

Nashville has the tie break on Calgary and a higher points percentage. I think it's bizarre seeing people cheer them on here.

Thats how i see it as well. Nashville is hooped if they lose tonight but has everything to play for on Saturday with a win which benefits Calgary. Flames need to win out regardless so let Nashville hang around and hurt the Jets and then it will be on the Flames to man up on Monday and end the Preds season.

The idea is to leapfrog them by beating them ourselves.
The preds feeling good about their chances hopefully powers them to take 2 points off the Jets and move us closer.
Either way, I think the harder fought the game is on Saturday, the better for us. Maybe you guys will beat each other up in the process

If Nashville wins tonight and then on Saturday, if Calgary beats Nashville on Monday, Nashville maxes out at 94 points. Calgary maxes out at 95 if they win out.
Not cheering for Nashville tonight, just not overly concerned about their win either.

Yeah the Flames need to win out anyway... Nashville is irrelevant

Saros has made 34 saves so far, nine minutes away from a superb shutout.

Okay but explain the logic of wanting Nashville to be up for the Jets game, beat them, and then what? They'll suddenly not be up for the Calgary game?

Is the first tiebreaker not regulation wins? Calgary has 2 more (soon to be 1 more) over Nashville currently.

Calgary is a better team than Winnipeg so it doesn’t matter if the Preds are up for the Calgary game.
