I said it shouldn't be a big issue, they play 12-14 minutes a game these are premier athletes.

Look at Boston’s performance in Calgary in similar circumstances, with even less travel time. The impact is real and matters on the margin.

Walk out a theory like that you're going to get poked at.
It's not like I called you names.
NFL players talk about exhaustion on short weeks.

They are playing other premier athletes who are better rested though. Parity is very high in the league and rest gives the other team an edge.

Its not like they have a lot of stuff to take care of, everything for them is taken care of accommodation meals etc.
I saw a quote from Josh Hard for the Knicks this is light work for most of these guys you work 2-3 hours a day, most people wake up 6am and grind 12 hours jobs so energy and effort should be an issue.

Its one of the furthest back to back in the league this season

Great Game Markstrom!
But how about a little nuance people on the what's wrong with this year's Flames team.
It is very possible that the players have been working hard but not getting results due to bad systems. They don't have to have quit on the coach in order to come to the conclusion that the coaching has sucked. And you don't have to have just one cause for this team's failures.
We have a lot of high-character guys on this team and I would not be at all surprised that they are holding it together in terms of not giving-up. Could the crap season just be blamed on bad puck luck? Sure, some, but not over 60 plus games. Is it bad goaltending? Yes, that too. And could it also be a bad coach with an outdated strategy, crappy line combos, bad game management, nonsensical favorites etc. Yes. All of these things can be true. IMO, they all are.
But I really don't buy the bad puck luck is the primary problem argument. That's a symptom of other issues not a cause of this year's underachieving team.

I don't think a single poster has suggested that it is the primary problem

Rhett on Barn Burner yesterday said this back to back would have been no fun for travel. I think Boomer said it was the tightest turn around that the league will allow between back to back games. And Minnesota hadn't played since Saturday. I'll accept they were tired.

Yeah the flight time is one thing. But DFW airport is a fair haul from Downtown Dallas. I once thought I'd save like $35 and take the train...regretted that soon as I had visions of throwing my life away for $35....
Games like last night are ones where you usually need the goalie to help you get the win.
Last year in a 17 game stretch from game 3 to 19...they had 7 shut outs. Hopefully this is a start of a similar stretch for the team.

That's a strange argument. Do you think they're lolly-gagging out there? Why do you they spread out sprint races at the Olympics? They're only exerting themselves for 10 seconds or less - they should be able to go right away again by this argument and not be at an disadvantage against someone who hasn't raced that day.

I actually wonder if it’s a small part of Huberdeau’s struggles this years given he’s used to a much lighter travel schedule out east.

He may not have been in altitude shape at the time of the trade and I don't think the playing season gets you into shape so much as wears on the body. and maybe he was not required to be in great shape in Fla as well. He seems to take pretty short shifts. I remember Toffoli was gassed all the time after he was traded (and now he's not).
I am a mediocre runner but I'm obviously used to altitude here. When I go to sea level places like Vancouver or NYC and go for a run I feel absolutely great.
