I've been defending Sutter for most of the year. However, I can't defend what I'm seeing now. It was infuriating to watch. You have to do something as a coach when your team is flat. Go to three lines, staple the 4th to the bench for a while. Change up the centers, something. Brutal coaching

Calgary is in the 11th from the bottom. I am starting to believe there is a greater chance at winning the Bedard lottery than earning a playoff berth.

Like the broadcast crew said, these are two mediocre teams, and the difference in standings is Minnesota has won a pile of OT stuff and Calgary has lost a pile of OT stuff. Coaching is a big deal here.

But talent is probably the real issue, and it's a mid grade team and there's no magic-bullet type answers. Probably doesn't matter a ton who the coach is, although you get the feeling the players are not that happy with the current system or coaching message.

I kinda think tho that no matter what, Sutter isn't going anywhere since he's the owners boy. They're not gonna renege on that fresh new extension.

And after the coaching carousel behind the bench. I can understand why.

The changes will be with the roster. If players aren't vibing with Sutter, then they will be shipped out.

Agreed. Although Nurse isn’t worth 9 a year, he still does more for the Oilers than Huberdeau does for the flames.
