Markstrom and the Powerplay cost the team again.
Markstrom just brutal and needs to save at least one more of those goals (the backbreaker in the third kills me too, how as a goalie do you let that pass through your crease).
And the PP killed all momentum, 0-4 and two goals against right after the PP expired.
Thise are the two biggest issues with the team.

Treliving totally got suckered by outlier seasons last year of Huberdeau/Kadri. Kadri moreso but even Huberdeau was a good bit above what he usually produces

I don't like blaming everything on Markstrom but this season is all on him. The Flames need great goaltending and aren't getting it from him. Bring on the Wolf!

But hey every team loses to crap/average teams all the time. We are in the thick of it, if we can only sneak in we are due for a fluke/miracle run, last time was 20 years ago, we are due lol.
Ownership and management is getting exactly what they deserve. This team needs a face lift from top to bottom. The fans are suffering the most, we aren't getting paid millions.
Also Hanifin can go, he gets a pass by a lot of people cause of his "pretty" skating stride but guy has cement for brains.

How many games now where the Flames made a third period comeback only to quickly blow it?
Also these last two seasons have really confirmed to me that coaching success is highly correlated to goaltending.

Just play this season out to the summer and figure out the path forward from there. They aren’t good enough on a consistent basis to go on a run. If they even make the playoffs it’ll likely be because of a fluke from Minny losing to many games.

Flyers had 5 scoring chances (not even sure that last goal is a scoring chance , most goalies just grab it ) and 4 went in and the D stopped the 5th on the line
The D literally allowed 1 even strength shot over the last 25 minutes of this game . What more can they do

1. Terrible goaltending with no key saves when needed
2. No successful comebacks in the 3rd
3. Tonnes of shots but limited finish
4. Defensive breakdowns galore
5. Top players disappoint
6. Goalposts
7. Losing to bad teams often
8. One goal losses
9. Lousy PP

The double standard from Sutter when it comes to Vladar and Markstrom must be unbelievable to play under.
There is no other coach in the NHL who would force feed starts to Markstrom like this. Not a single one.
The team should have won, but lost due to terrible goaltending. Markstrom has single handedly lost the Flames 5-10 games this year. I don't think he has stolen a single game.
