Always earned, never given was Hartley.
Always given, never earned is Sutter.

I won't talk ill of his work last summer though. He tried his hardest and for that he deserves a tip of the hat
But yeah, the reload didn't work. And now we're in a bad spot. It's over

If ownership wants to honour their own MO of playoffs, they'll have to cut him loose
At this rate, keeping him might land us a top 10-12 pick. These guys are tuned out

Top 10 means a small shot at bedard. Better than getting embarrassed in the playoffs

This is completely unfounded.
But I almost feel like he's coaching to try to get the GM fired, and take over from Treliving.
He has the most job security on the team management.
More than his assistants. More than the management group.
All rumours state that he has the ownership groups full trust and faith in him.
Like I said I have no proof, but just a gut feeling. This doesn't really feel like a Darryl Sutter that is really doing all he can to turn this team around.

I’d agree it’s worth a try. But, the these three are not the reason why the Flames are bad this year. It’s clearly on the ones who are supposed to be difference makers.

Not sure about the 3rd but for the 1st 2 periods it was Kadri's worst game as a Flame.
We should have been up 3-2 if he didn't miss a wide open net. Game changer.

The talent on the roster is there but it just isn’t happening this season.
The Flames playoff curse — one year in, one year out — looks to be in full force.
Looking forward to the Flames beating up on the Rangers on Saturday, just because.

Sutter was not trying to win that game. He was trying to send a message to the players. Constantly putting the 4th line out at insane times to kill momentum. Doesn't pull the goalie to even try for a miracle come back. Doesn't bother to pump up the minutes of his best forwards.
Won't even consider changing the lines up.
It's like he signed that contract extension and his goal is now to get fired so he can go make millions working on his farm.

Sutter putting alot of heat of Vladar.
Also taking no responsibility for making sure the team is prepared

What's funny is this is exactly the type of game and team I expected Sutter to trot out. Last year was the aberration. Sutter hockey has always been slow, grinding, play around the perimeter garbage. Worst hockey in the world to be subjected to watching. Last year they played quick, transitioned quickly, and used the middle of the ice. They actually scored off the rush! That was so against Sutter's game and his past teams. It's almost like the first line knew they were playing for contracts and freedom and just played their game, then the success made it impossible for Sutter to reign them in. This year, not the case. Guys aren't playing for anything and actually following the game plan, much to the team's detriment. Can't win for losing.

I thought his assessment was fair. He’s been concerned about this group when they come back from a long road trip that they aren’t ready to play and that’s part of a lack of leadership. Also mentioned that we didn’t get momentum from any PP’s or PK’s and goaltending certainly didn’t do enough to help us win. Pretty much sums it up.

I am nervous to see what Treliving does to save his job. He has no incentive to think about the future if his days are numbered - give up everything to somehow make the playoffs.
