So Huberdeau is on pace for less than 20 goals and a whopping 60 points. I had some concerns about his contract in the final few years, but now it looks like it's going to be one of the worst in the league right away

22/23 games when markstroms in goal in a nutshell
they do leave him out to dry but he also doesn't help himself
they may need to dump markstrom somehow, if only to rid themselves of this conditioned routine they follow every time he suits up
meanwhile games follow a totally different script when vladar is back there, even if they don't win. they actually give themselves a shot in those games

This is a team of a bunch of veterans who aren't earning their paychecks and a coach who refuses to play young talent that fans want to see play. A terrible combination

add inability to suck hard enough in the most ideal draft year to in 7-8 years
no future hope, no draft hope, no contention hope, low entertainment
congrats Sutter, tre and co
best part about it is they'll stay the course, too, because they know best and the fans are morons

Effort was the main issue, especially to start, and again. Sutter even said so himself basically.
Effort the issue. Again.
Seems to be the case a lot this year. I don’t really get the impression any of these guys care too much. Mangi is the classic case of contract year plays amazing and tails off once he gets paid. Tre’s gotta learn from that and not make those mistakes again.
