The coach exchanged by far his most productive even strength point producer for by far his worst, and is left publicly voicing his displeasure about his teams lack of production recently.

Ruzicka was listing ... he's trying to develop an inconsistent player.
I think that will be the switch at some point if things continue for the other two lines.
Could be any time now.
But if he insists on having Lucic in the lineup (which he seems to), I think an argument could be made that a switch would worsen the fourth line more than Ruzicka would help the second line.

Vladar has played in 33% of the games. The Flames haven't played since Tuesday. I wouldn't call that burning out your starter.
If this pace keeps up Markstrom will play about 55 games which is 8 less than last season.

I really don’t like this “inconsistent” stuff simply because a player is young. It’s total BS.
You know who else has been “inconsistent” this year?
-COLEMAN
- Lewis
- Lucic
- Backlund
- Kadri
- Huberdeau
- Stone
- Dube
- Mangiapane
- everyone but Toffoli and Andersson?

Have they though?
We don't see a huge range on most of those players. Some games the puck goes in others they don't.
Ruzicka is noticeably a different player when he's not engaged.
But more to your point ... Dube and Coleman have both spent time on the fourth line for a sag in play this season.

You're looking at different types of consistency in terms of a 200ft game and checking compared to simply putting the puck in the net and scoring consistency here. The above players, for the most part are not having the gameplay issues that a youngster like Ruzicka can and has fallen into.
Sutter has to take a lot of credit for what he's done with Dube, so I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt with Ruzicka here. However, when the Flames are losing more 1 goal games than they are winning, you do expect this little experiment to come to an end sooner than later.
Lucic is certainly not doing nearly enough to warrant this prolonged stretch on a scoring line where it is not merely good enough to just be there and check. I would suspect that the team's overall scoring would improve noticeably if this change was made back to Ruzicka as all 3 players would benefit from more speed and skill on that line.

All the Lucic hate in this thread leads me to believe one thing, Lucic is going to get a point tonight.

I hope Lucic's point is of the goal variety. I took him to score in the Timmy's challenge, because I just can't bring myself to fade Looch.
