pelletier is quietly 9th in ahl scoring too . but really that's because both these guys should be on nhl 3rd lines by this point

Only one way to find out, and it's not by leaving him down there forever. The Flames' pro scouting department has more than shown over the years that it's not infallible by a long shot.

Let's say Phillips gets called up. Who sits? How do the lines look? He can't be called up to play on the 4th line, that is just wasting his time and not putting him into a position to succeed. What does the lineup look like with Phillips on the roster?

He could play on the 4th line. He’s going to have to prove to Sutter he can play the right way before Sutter gives him any meaningful offensive opportunities so why not do it in sheltered minutes on the 4th line.

Like Phillips, I don't think it's useful to put Ruzicka on the 4th line.

Move Mangiapane down with Backlund and Coleman.

I thought about that too, it seems like Dube was more engaged in the last couple of games while Ruzicka seems to be trending down. Ruzicka needs to develop more consistency.

I like your options too. I just can't see Sutter allowing an AHL call up go straight to the top line. Maybe if Phillips gets another 2 point per game week he would get that chance but...
