He wasn't very good in Calgary
And he did play, he was just on the 2nd unit out (5th in 3 on 3 ice time)
He is crying about not starting in OT which is a stupid. Obviously Gaudreau takes the winger spot before him.

Complaining about not being the go to guy for top line 3 on 3 simply reveals that in his mind he was the only option as he saw himself as the best player. It's entitled and self absorbed which obviously spilled into the locker room, it actually adds a lot of context to the team skating away when Muzzin flipped the puck at him.

As far as Tkachuk goes I mean it was evident he disliked Sutter he never talked about him ever. Tkachuk was also a me first player who is about the family brand and putting up regular season points. It was pretty evident after he release that teary eyed tribute to the Flames fans which consisted of his career highlights only.

That's the thing. You gotta play a defenseman and a centre. Only room for one winger and obviously it's Gaudreau over him. Not sure what he'd complaining about.

I think a number of them already have.

I don't miss Tkachuk. I miss the talent that he was, but I definitely don't miss everything else about him.

I wonder how Chucky views himself on a team with Barkov?

Also he has a higher OZ% start. I think that's literally it. He wants McDavid/Draisaitl useage and he's getting it in Florida.
Is he wrong? I dunno. But I don't think Sutter ideally uses his players like that. What is my personal belief? I think your superstars should be playing 20-22 mins a night. That's the amount of ice time these elite star players seem to be getting.
Huberdeau, Kadri, Lindholm should be seeing 20+ mins every night. But I'm most definitely not the coach.

Good point chucky. Also, sutter wasn’t here yet and you hadn’t scored 100 points either.
Always interesting when a player is so into himself that his complaint is not playing enough during a relatively rare feature of the season.

Lol classic..guy who constantly trashes the Flames comes running to defend them once they are no longer in the team. Thanked by other known CP negative Nellie's
It was a dbag entitled quip...he obviously feels he was underutilized in OT which is pretty poor self awareness. Somebody certainly needs to grow up.

I think it depends on your lineup. I know to many, the Flames suck and have no depth because they've lost a few straight, but the depth is strong and 3 lines deep. In a situation like that, you spread the ice around because any line from 1-3 can outperform the others. Kadri's line showed this at the start, then when they slowed down, Backlund and his line picked it up. Yet to see Huberdeau's line but it'll come.

So do it 20/18/15/7 and not 18/16/14/12. It does seem like last game it was a bit better but the fourth line needs to be capped at 8 minutes. I like their energy sure but how many games has it been since Lucic scored? They’re just not going to get the puck in the net enough.

I agree that the 4th line is getting too much ice, which is why I tried to be specific about the Flames being deep from lines 1-3. When I mentioned lines 1-3, I'm thinking Huberdeau-Lindholm-Toffoli, Dube-Kadri-Mangiapane, Lewis-Backlund-Coleman.

I think his quip was also in response to the chiclets guys asking him if he heard what Sutter said about him earlier in the interview. It's fine, he's gone and he can drive his little golf kart around in Florida.

I personally don’t want to be the oilers and have bugging left in the tank come Playoff time. That’s so oilers to play your stars and not the 3rd/4th line. That’s why Sutter teams succeed in the playoffs, their guys aren’t wore out and all are engaged. Some of the posters campaigning for more ice time for the starts are also ones saying Sutter needs to limit Marky’s starts due to burnout. Isn’t any different with the star players. This is a long game decision, big picture asset management. They will get stronger as the season goes because they haven’t been over played.
