Yeah because he would have held the Oilers to one goal

On the other hand it seems like it always works out that a game against Calgary is a perfect opportunity for someone to break a slump... I'm sure fans of all teams feel the same way about their own teams though.
Would love to see that new top line just light the lamp all night & get some confidence going

This 💯. Start playing the best. Take contracts out of it and start playing who plays the best. And this take isn’t just for the goalie. It should apply to the whole team.

And 5-2 to start the season. That's impressive. Wouldn't know it with all the Doom & Gloom around!

I believe this team is for real!

How is that true if we have only played 7 games and everyone else about 2-3 more than us in the same time period? I dunno about that and suspect the list is ranked only on strength of opponent with no other detail considered.

Daccord has played 3 games this year, all in the AHL, with a 3.36 GAA

7.02 team shooting %? Yikes.
What is the NHL average, typically?

Yup, and just wait until it evens out, this team isn't going anywhere but up and up in the standings. Just need to get our team on board with how to beat those darn Oilers.

I really hope the line change up gives Huberdeau and Lindholm a little jolt, we need those guys firing.

That said, 3rd string goalie, light him up early and often, shoot, shoot, shoot.

5-1 victory, dark side is the right side and Huberdeau has a multiple point night.

GFG.

How are games played relevant? Strength of schedule is based on the on quality of opponent

The only way I see it making a difference is if you are playing a team on a back-to-back, or long road trip or something.

That opens a lot of variables and a lot of room for opinion though, so I see why they just do the opponents ranking.

I will donate $20 to CP if either Huberdeau scores 3 points tonight or Lindholm scores 3 points tonight..

2 games in 9 days isn't ideal either

considering how badly the Flames are outshooting and outplaying supposed contenders I like their chances if they continue to play this way and build on it as the schedule evens out.
