Leafs go 1-2-2 on their western road trip. Only win was in Winnipeg.

Help, save, whatever.

Also Marner has the brain of a peanut. Two of the goals against were directly making passes that weren't just there that just led to turnovers.
Would any GM be dumb enough to do a trade similar to Tkachuk's? If so the Leafs need to.move him. The whole fanbase hates him.

No he's a great leaf. No need to move. Just keep on keeping on.

Might be a good time to rip the Leafs off in a trade

Wonder if Barry Trotz is waiting for a plane ticket at his home in Kelowna....Leafland would LOVE his style of play.

No one is fleecing Dubas, he might trade a guy but not for trash or anything like that. I mean you can definitely get Justin Holl or Alex Kerfoot for a song right now if you want those guys for whatever reason, but if the top players move it's going to be a Tkachuk type of thing.

He's under so much pressure to change something. You might be able to fleece him. If anyone can, Brad can.

I'm in favour of scrapping it altogether as well. I can live with the odd bad call. Like you said, it's not like they don't still make bad calls now. The Coleman goal from the playoffs comes to mind.
It also sucks when your team scores and your first thought is "I hope that counts and wasn't offside by a hair 45 seconds ago".

I don't really mind it now that any unsuccessful challenge leads to a penalty. But if you wanted to further cut it down, just bring in some "immediate and direct result" language - i.e. the offside matters if it's a goal off the rush, but not if possession has changed or a bunch of time has passed while the attacking team sets up. They had this rule for hand passes and pucks off the netting not being blown down (i.e. a missed stoppage) at one point, I think it's changed since for whatever reason.
The other (or an additional) method is to place a time limit on coaching challenges - you have as much time to make a challenge as you do to make a line change, and we're not waiting for you to make up your mind as you stare at an iPad and go frame by frame through the play hoping to see something or wait for your video guy to call down and give you the green light. If it was immediately obvious to you that the refs or linesmen missed something, and you can say so immediately, you can challenge. You have about 15-20 seconds before we drop the puck.

Time limit for the challenge, and time limit for the replay - if it's blatantly obvious in 60 seconds or less, overturn. Otherwise, call stands.
These 8 minute reviews are killing the game. And they are no more accurate than the call on the ice

Wow, forget about the special team stats. The Devils sent the BJs through hell as New Jersey burned Columbus 7-1. Merzlikins was in net for all 7 goals, but, he faced 53 shots. The 1st period was 20-5 and the 3rd period was 22-9. The BJs were outclassed in every part of the game. The Devils had 15 players get a point in this game.
Stalock has been giving the Bhawks decent goaltending and they beat the Wild in the SO. Matt Boldy had 2 goals for the Wild.
Hellebucyk should be the only star of the game as he made 46 saves to get the Jets a single point. It was scoreless until the 3rd period. Stone and Eichel each with 2 points in the Knights win. Eichel scored the GWG with 7 seconds left in OT. The Jets PK was 3/3.
LOL at the Leafs. They blow a 3-1 lead and lose 4-3 in OT. Zegras with 2 goals including the GWG. Lots of shots in the game, 39-36 for the Ducks.
The Rangers came back to squeak out a 3-2 win in reg time. Panarin scored twice. The Coyotes back goalie, Ingarm, was solid as the Rangers out shot the Coyotes 39-20.
