Tom Barrasso. Calder and Vezina winner with the Sabres and starting goalie for the Penguins during their back to back cups in the early 90s.

John LeClair is another player that comes to mind. 1/3rd of the Legion of Doom line with Rennberg and Lindros.

Scoring Winger

Closer to home.. drafted 6th overall by the Flames - Cory Stillman - totally under the radar after leaving Calgary but had a solid career after being traded for our assistant GM. Won the cup at our expense in 04.. and played over a 1000 games in the NHL.
But a player that you wouldn’t really know if he didn’t play for your team, and suspect will be easily forgotten as time passes.

Reggie Leach, member of the Broad Street Bullies and won the Conn Smythe on the losing team in 1976.
Also won the scoring title that year I do believe and is also First Nations(born April 23, 1950, Ojibwe, Berens River First Nation).
Loved the Flyers back then. They were fun to watch win or lose.

Mike Bullard! Traded to the Flames from the Pens at their lowest for Dan Quinn, put up a 103 point season in Calgary, and was devastated to be traded again, this time for Doug Gilmour in 88. Was never the same after leaving Calgary, and was out of the league 2 years later.

I’ll always remember Tim Kerr from my C of Champions Flames VHS

Geez at first glance I thought he was wearing skater's equipment rather than goalie equipment. Really shows how much goalie equipment has grown over the years.

I was just going to mention Mike Bullard!
How about John Tonelli-he had seasons of 93 and 100 points with the Islanders before coming to Calgary, then it was a slow decline...

Chris Osgood. Dude has 3 Cups, over 400 wins, 8th most playoff wins for all goalies... And he's essentially forgotten only like 15 years after his last Cup.

I still remember Osgood, if only for his fight against Roy.

Tom Lysiak. An underated centre that scored 834 points in 919 games played. Both with the Atlanta Flames and Chicago Blackhawks
Quote:
From the Atlanta years, Lysiak is the Flames franchise lead in assists and points.

This might be the fumes, but it looks like Bubbles has got wings on his back and he's strangling Mike Bullard!

How about our very own Mike Rogers?

519 points in 484 NHL games. Before that he played 6 years in the WHA and was almost a PPG player there.

My brother is a big Red Wings fan so I watch a bunch of games with him every season. Mickey is always a fun guy to listen to on the Red Wings broadcasts.

I contribute Pete Peeters to this thread.
A couple spectacular seasons in the early 80's with Philly and Boston, for example in '82-83 with Boston: "played in 62 games and posting a 40–11–9 record with 8 shutouts and a decade-best 2.36 GAA." (from Wikipedia). Vezina winner, played a key role in the 1984 Canada Cup. Took the Flyers to the Cup final but fell short. A historical victim of his own inconsistency and lack of finals success.
The main reason I thought of him is that I know someone who lives in his old house from the early 80's, which is kind of cool. Otherwise he would have been lost to my memory-- much like the hockey cards of my childhood on which I can see the faces of so many other players in this thread.
