Since we're all so used to losing season openers, at least this time it will nullify a game against a good team.
October 1, 2009 was the last season opening win. Brandon Prust had the winning goal from Freddie Sjostrom and Eric Nystrom.

I wasn't going to post in this thread until tomorrow but the Flames just sent out some info if you're heading down to the game:

- Avs score in the opening minute
- Markstrom gives up 5
- Lewis gets beat up
- Flames get shutout
And that would be one of the better opening nights for the Flames.

Uh oh. 13th consecutive first game loss on the 13th, 13 years since the last time they won one, 13 seasons since I have been to a Flames game ( they lost), numbers not looking good for them at this point...
