It's opening day and I already have rediscovered my hate for the NHL. Blatant "team down by 1 gets a power play in the last ten minutes" game management call to artificially create what will now likely be a 3 point game due to the way teams play for the tie in these situations, in turn artificially creating standings parity.

Everything working as intended.

I'm serious, I can't think of anyone worse at it. Has Gene Principe ever been set up between the benches?

On the plus side, Stone broke the tie so that's justice.

Mark Stone acting like his brother and blasting it.

The team with the ugly jerseys beats the team with the ugly helmets.

Glad that game didn't go to OT. Vegas pretty much willed that win to happen, they look like a good team again, but we'll see how far goaltending will take them over the course of a season.

L.A. deserved to lose. You could tell they were sitting back in the last 5 minutes and trying to play for the tie point.

game mgmt is clearly for the purpose of entertainment, but it violates the intergrity of the game being played when penalties are created based on the score regardless of how cleanly the winning team is playing . boo indeed . i am of the school of thought that in sports calls need to be earned no matter the circumstance . i do miss the former generation of officials for that reason . stingy with calls but fair

the penalty call that led to the tying goal is called a penalty every time

also, I disagree about the Kings playing for a tie - they had several good chances to win it in the last few minutes, as did the Knights

it was a good game

Pretty good opening games for TV. The only complaint for me was the "best player in the game" drop by Amber. Really? Why?
