Wow, excellent news and somewhat unexpected.

I am sure details would be sparse as far when the term actually is, but this is the best signing yet. Figured we had two seasons at most with him left, and this appears to make it seem longer than that, though maybe his deal ran out after this.

And of course it's all orchastrated timing; lock in the core of the team for the foreseeable future and then sign the coach.

With a new core, that helps too for some longevity. As much as Sutter over most coaches in the league has had success and has been able to get the most of players AND adapt (so he shouldn't be tuned out), players do grow weary of the messenger and do tune out the coach.

We really are lucky to have such a effective coach and great man as the defacto face of this franchise after some of the embarrassments before him (as coaches and management).

But, his unfinished business and his love for the city to agree to come back here and now to commit here maybe longer than anticipated, is fantastic.

All looks really good now but we have to see the results. This team has done nothing yet. Nothing less than a thrashing of the oilers in the playoffs and at least winning two rounds will be excepted.Tre has had a good offseason but lets see them play at least a couple reg season games before we anoint him GM of the year.Interested to see how this plays out.

baby steps .. as long as the team is progressing . taking a second round the distance before falling short would still be an improvement on last year . give them a bar that is feasibly reached and that way anything more is gravy . if it's a BOA rematch they better take it though
