Was wondering the same. Is there only speculation he may be part of that because he hasn't spoken up against it, or has his name been mentioned somewhere? Either way, it's probably best to keep any rumours quelled, period.

All about prospect development and growth. So yeah, I'm way more curious about them than the main roster players.

I'm really really hoping Zary comes back strong this camp and prospect tournament

The most intriguing player may not be on the camp roster yet…

Dube. He is the one that could theoretically make the most impact. Put him on the wing on the first line and see if he can build on end of last year. 30 goals on the top line to me is not unrealistic and playing on the top line should do wonders for his confidence.

Honestly, this is the most excited I've been since the first years after Iggy left. There are so many intriguing stories going into camp.

He did release a statement through his agent (below). Perhaps people are simply referring to the distraction and fear of implication, rather than actually accusing him of being directly involved? Regardless I would second the sentiment to avoid rumours on this topic especially

For me it’s Matthew Phillips. Trading Gaudreau opens the door for him imo. It would be awesome to see him crack the roster.

For me it’s Lindholm. He better play well, or he risks being sent down to the Wranglers.

For me it's Huberdeau.

As much as his track record suggests he's a known quantity, we haven't seek him in Flames silks before, and this will be our only preview before his massive contract kicks in. I'm curious to see how good he is, and how well he meshes with the other players on the team and Sutter's system. We've put a lot of eggs in this particular basket, so it's the one I'm most interested in watching.

Huberdeau for me. 9 years, largest contract ever given in Calgary Flames history carrying a 10.5 cap hit.

I've always liked him from afar so I cannot wait to REALLY see what kind of player he is watching him game in and game out.

Still cant believe what has transpired this offseason. Probably wont fully believe it until we see our "new" team on the ice.

The answer is Dube. If he becomes a 20G/45-50 point player that makes us much deeper.

Hard not to say Huberdeau or Weegar. Both can be legit options long term for this team, especially Weegar.

How so?

Gaudreau was probably the most important player on the team last season. Phillips is a tweener at best.

Toffoli is another one

But I think Dube is the most intriguing

The clear answers for me are Valimaki, Phillips, Ruzicka, Backlund, Rooney, and Mackey.

Similar to everyone here.
Phillips always showed a bit and it's time for a string of games to see or not.
Ruzicka and Mackey improving and establishing themselves after previous showings.
Backline taking a 3rd C role and if Pelletier helps on that line

Zary is a big one. It would be nice if he turned into an everyday NHLer at some point. Hopefully, he gives us something to get excited about.

I think there is a pretty decent chance of that happening, but no chance it'll be this year. With the injury last year, they'll let him have a full year in the A to grow.

Yup ... Zary is almost guaranteed to start the year as the Wranglers' No. 1 centre.
