I accumulate a weird eclectic assortment of things that are larger than some people's collections, but I don't really consider myself a collector. I'm not going to F5 websites or make crazy trips to rush out and look for something to acquire. I just go with whatever options that land in front of me.
I'll see an opportunity to play, accumulate a ton of items in short order, then I'll purge and start over.
Alcohol and watches are the only maybes from what you guys are probably using as the definition of collection items though. I just consider them consumption items than items I collect. Collecting to me typically means having a bunch of stuff essentially for display purposes only.
I do regular purges and shifts in hobbies which is why I don't really see myself as a collector.
"Collecting experiences"? Nah.

License plates and highway signs. In the midst of redoing my setup in my garage. The pandemic probably ended my chance of ever completing a complete Alberta passenger run as the plates from 1912-16 have increased to ridiculous prices (those are the 5 old ones I am missing).

One other thing I forgot, I collect old electromechanical relays. These things are, simply put, the brains behind why big circuit breakers trip.

I used to travel a ton, and saved a banknote or two from places I'd been. I don't travel much now, and with like $500 in face value money hanging around I'm wondering wtf to do with these.
I also inherited my dad's banknote collection of Canadian notes, and have tried to finish the ones he's missing. Now mostly $50s and $100s which are really too rich for my blood. I think there's a $20 from the early 1900s that's missing too, as I recall. I've also amassed a ton of doubles if I find el-cheapo non-mint notes.
Those are some of the more unique collections, I guess.
Edit: I just pulled out the Canadian banknotes cause it feels like ages since I looked at them. The '70s bills were marvelous!

I've got a solid collection of Flames stuff I started back in 1980. Haven't added a lot to it lately.
I collect hockey pucks as well, and I love the non-NHL obscure stuff.
Edit: and with all the models and sculptures on the shelves, I guess I also collect *dust*.

Started collecting again in the mid-90s when someone gave me a model locomotive as a gift and it just kind of went from there. My collection definitely isn’t as expansive as some of the other ones I’ve seen, but I’ve got some neat stuff.

Do you collect the locomotives/rolling stock or do you also have a model railroad?
I have an n scale layout and rolling stock to match. I also have a Sheldon Cooper bobblehead that was gifted to me. Ya just have to own it.

I collect 1:43 scale diecast race cars, primarily Porsche.
And Ford Capris. Why Capris? Because my first car was a 76 Mark II. Great little car.

I used to collect wrestling figures and magazines (still have them) when I was younger. The only thing I really collect now is watches (nothing crazy expensive) and some colognes.

As a kid, comics, hockey cards, stamps and coins. Still have them all. As an adult, I'd have to say golf balls as I find more than I lose and scotch as I buy more than I can drink.
