That defensive core looks like a sieve and it's hard to have much belief that Campbell is going to step up and repeat the best start of a season he has ever had, for a whole season, with many more high danger chances against.

What makes it even more challenging for them managining their cap is they have poor defence and questionable goalies with 1 player who is a generational offensive talent who refuses to play good in his own end. McDavid boosts all their players stats including Leon. Combine this with a team that will play 5 to 4 games nightly. Teams like Colorado get a 3 goal lead they play good defense. If they are winning 4 to 1 going into the 3rd they often win 4 to 1 or 4 to 2. Edmonton has a habit of giving up 2 to make it 4 to 3 and either blowing the game or winning 6 to 3. Then all their key players pad their stats.
If Barrie gets traded, Bouchard could be primed to get a 60+ point season. At his age and putting up those numbers he could get $8 mil but IMO he is not that good. Just like Nurse, thoes points are inflated due to McDavid and their teams inability to hold big leads leading to bumps in all their players stats. Points cost money so I'm ok with the inflated point totals.
In the end I still see really 2 players carrying the offence, others are just passengers getting paid.
Kane and Hyman contribute as well but even Nuge really doesn't do much away from McDavid
