Not overly surprised that summer junior hockey isn't filling up arenas especially given this is one of the nicest summers in recent Alberta history.

The rink looks exactly how they did for decades every time the tourney was in Europe. But it’s “Canadians” at fault this time?

Playing this in August was dumb, everyone was already over it being cancelled.

I imagine TSN had interest in it going on as it's and important part of their annual viewership although I have to imagine that TV viewership is also in the tank for this tournament.

Tough break for Latvia, tied 1-1 in the third against Sweden and get called for 5 minute major check to the head. Not sure I agree with it when the Sweden player is hunched over leading with his head.

Edit: Huge kill by Latvia still tied!

Honestly, that was a great showing by Latvia, in my opinion anyway.

Is Stromgren on team sweden? Hows he doing? I have pretty low hopes for him.

So glad to see the main TSN station has a Toronto and New England soccer game on the main station and wrestling on TSN 2. There is only a somewhat important Canada junior hockey game on and the ####ing eggheads at TSN put soccer and wrestling on. #### you TSN!!

Really wanted the flames to take Stankoven with their 2nd round pick last year. He’s looked great this tournament. Always wonder why so many GMs convince themselves not to take chances on players with high upside with 2nd/3rd round picks. Guys like Stankoven and Raty have looked good this tournament. Both of them were players that dropped in the draft and were considered riskier picks.

Obviously this tournament does not an NHL player make… but it is a good stepping stone in a players development and is usually a good sign when they perform well at it.

Still hate that the Flames passed on Stankoven.

I'm guessing there is more interest in wrestling and TFC then this tournament. That and cable companies wanting you to have all 5 TSNs so you don't miss replays of the World Cup from 2018 and ATP tennis.

This gold medal game is awful. Canada gets away with murder and Finland touches a guy and gets a penalty.

No wonder this tourney is dead everywhere outside of Canada.

It’s just a jerk off for Canada fans.

Isn't this what usually happened when teams play Oilers? Oilers gets away with murder and the other team breathe on them get a penalty? Or McDrai hold the other player's stick under their arms and the other player get called hooking?

McTavish has been unbelievable this tournament. I'm going to hate him for the next 15 years.

Not going to lie, I thought he was a reach when he was drafted. Guy has been a beast.

I'm not really sure what game you're watching. These are clear penalties and I don't see this "murder" you are referring to.

I recognize Oiler fans aren't really the best evaluators of anything hockey related, but come on now.

It’s like 8-1.

Literally everyone in my section is cheering for Finland now.

How insecure do you have to be to talk about the oilers all the time.
