Skinner had 33 goals and 63 points last season… he’s still overpaid but it’s far from a top 5 worst contract in the league, or even top 10 worst.

I agree, Benn has a worst contract than Seguin IMO

Not bad for a Principal from Springfield.

Rasmus Andersson (4 more years at $4.55M) didn't make the top 10 but is listed as an honorable mention.

He also mentioned this was done before Tkachuk signed and that he would now be in the top 5 as well.

I don't think they look at "value" at all.... or the best budget contracts in the league... because dollar for dollar.... Elias Lindholm's contract has to be right up there.

I think the remaining length of contract is a factor. With Lindholm with only two years left it probably lowered him in the rankings.

Benn’s is up in 3 years and Seguin’s in 5 though. Both have been declining rapidly

Also, the absolute value is what's looked at, no the percentage.

So a should-be $3 million/year player on a $1 million contract for one year is considered less "good" than a should-be $10.5 million/year player on a $10 million/year for 8 years.
