Unless he is planning to only visit his folks on the weekends after driving 8 hours to, and 8 hours back. Even if you were in the situation of having nonstop flights between home and work like Hamonic did, having a baby on the way would make that travel highly undesirable.

If he played out of NJ or NYI, it's only about an hour and a half. So basically the equivalent from Calgary to Red Deer.
