I just don’t want them to have him being out of the lineup as an excuse, although I’m sure the fanbase will say a fine was just as detrimental to the team because he couldn’t focus after having that thrown on top of all his other money problems.

Kane is thankful for a suspension and not the $5000 fine, since he can't afford that.

If this happened to McDavid, there would be a documentary about it

League should just say - out for however long Kadri is out +1 game on-top of that.

Where does the NHL stand as a creditor if he gets the fine?

Just suspend him for however long the series goes.
So 1 game.

What a piece of human garbage this guy is. My wife had a presentation in Edmonton yesterday and we were in a restaurant eating while this happened on TV and heard several Oilers fans exclaim that Kadri went down to easy and is faking and that it shouldn't even be a penalty.

I wonder if he’ll try and bribe them into aborting the suspension and then Welch on paying them after.

Considering that Kane was running around in the previous game when the score was out of reach trying to injure players. Yeah, the league should make sure he doesn't get on the ice again in at least this series.
Then the Oilers last night after its 4-2 puts his goon line out to do what? Present flowers and congratulate the Avs on their dominance so far with hugs and hearty handshakes?
At least you can say Kane is somewhat coachable, I expect that he did exactly what he was told to do by the Oilers coaches.

... It's deliberate intent to injure. It should be 10+ games. I know it won't, but it should be.

He was just fined, yeah? So a repeat offender?
I think they'll sit him for awhile, which won't matter cuz YEG are SOL here.

Didn’t he just cross check someone from behind and and ride him into the boards head first the game prior?

It's kinda sad we already all know whatever the league hands out will not be enough.
You knock a guy out of playoff games, maybe the rest of the playoffs, on an incredibly dirty hit you should be handing out 10+ games, easy. Exact stuff they need to get out of the NHL.

The way to stop it is to make the punishment worse than the 'benefit'. If Kane is out longer than Kadri would be, that is a serious deterrent that would slow players down.

Lucic didn’t even deserve his match penalty. Totally different hits.
