Rangers with an amazing playoffs so far. Their young players (lafreniere, Chytl, Kakko, fox, K’Andre Miller) have been excellent.

Oh yeah, I'm still glad we drafted him, as it helped us complete one of the better trades in the past two decades. I would have been way more choked if we held onto him thinking there was a chance and then losing him for nothing when he signed with the Rangers.
I don't look at him as a draft pick that we lost as was never going to play here, he was just a cheap asset the whole time and we cashed in on it in a big trade, so it's a win.

Right. No one picked close behind him has played a meaningful amount of games. Rem Pitlick picked 10 after has played 77.

Sure but don’t you get the idea of people wondering what if? I believe the Flames drafted him hoping he would play here.
The guy is a special player, the kind that don’t come around too often.

Also sliding one way, digging with his skate and a strong push the other way, with full splits. That was on the goal, even. Didn’t stop it but still exceptional, have to make a darn good play to beat him

I can't recall any goalie as good at keeping square to the shooter and square to his net - through significant traffic and lateral movement. It's really impressive.
Then super quick legs when he needs them.

Shesterkin is to the Flames, as Markstrom is to the Oilers...discuss
its amazing a guy can be so good, who was so not good in the two viewings we had of him this year

Hard to believe we put the boot to that Rangers team twice.
Sometimes your style and personnel just match up well with certain teams i guess.
I wish Markstrom could play the way he does against eastern US teams vs all teams.

It’s more amazing (for the Flames) that those were two of maybe 4-5 sub par outings for him all year.
