How does Stauffer get a vote? It's not like Steinberg or Pinder get votes. So Hrudey really is a closet Oilers fan. I didn't think it was true.

Hrudey voted for Woodcroft? That's a joke, no?

The prevailing thought is that Hrudey has a personal dislike Sutter. More than an actually like for Edmonton, no?

Good for Sutter. Definitely deserving.
Woodcroft did a good job, but the number of games was not a high sample; vote was held before the playoffs iirc

Has the breakdown of how the votes were public yet?
TBH not surprised Woodcroft got 3 votes. A lot of media would tune in for McDavid and they did have a new coach bounce. It’s 3 votes.

I thought the vote included the first two rounds? Though I might be wrong.

That’s insane that Hrudey voted for Woodcroft. Pull him off Flames broadcasts permanently. Wow.

Looks like the thanks jury is still out on who won the race to start this thread lol!
Seriously though what a year, I still think he and the core if we can keep it has another step up in them which is pretty crazy to consider. Congrats big D, fav hockey coach all time let alone Flames coach.

pretty sure its a regular season award, like all the other awards like the Selke, Rocket, Lindsey, Hart, Vezina and Norris...
otherwise, half the teams and players are automatically at a disadvantage by not making the playoffs

It might be the GM of the year that is voted after the second round.

I think the poster you quoted was joking.
Either way, nobody gave Woodcroft a 1st place vote.
He received a 2nd place vote, and two 3rd place votes.

Just a beauty.
As he said, 4 games of series were tied in 3rd.
We won 1 and had goals taken off the board in 2 more.
Expects everyone to come back a "percentage" better than last offseason and will tweak the systems and specifics at a player training level after the draft and FA.
Just a treat to listen to talking hockey.

Though it’d be fun to see the hate smoulder, I shoulda used the green text. There’s no list of who voted for who to my knowledge.

Very happy for Darryl to have won this award. Very deserving of it.

Scoring Winger
I wonder if there is anyone out there who gives less of a #### about this than Darryl himself? I honestly don’t think he gives a flying F. Darryl only measures success on the ice, and he can’t be pleased with how this season ended at all.
